Blood, Sweat, Tears & Paw Prints: Transforming Mama Cherry's Pet Pawlor

Who would have thought that a family could tackle a commercial storefront remodel and come out on the other side with their sanity intact? Well, my sister from other parents, Charity, and I decided to put that theory to the test. Let me introduce you to the epic saga of transforming a drab, outdated space into the adorable and functional Mama Cherry's Pet Pawlor.

It all started with a dream. Charity had always wanted to open her pet grooming business again but this time closer to home, and she finally found the perfect location: a small storefront on 10 W 29th St in Anderson, IN. 

The space had potential, but it definitely needed some love, lots of love. So, armed with buckets of paint, power tools, and an unwavering determination, we dove headfirst into this renovation project.

Tommy (my other half) deserves a huge shoutout for his invaluable contributions; from handling the heavy lifting to offering expert advice on carpentry and plumbing, he was our unsung hero. I could never forget to shout out the incredible support from Charity's kids: Maria, Gabby, and Misa, who brought their youthful energy, enthusiasm and muscles to the project. Even Maria's best friend, Makena, joined the fun!

We quickly realized that this was no ordinary DIY project. We tackled everything from removing multiple layers of flooring to installing new plumbing. We painted, decorated, and even replaced the ceiling tiles. It was a whirlwind of activity, and at times, we questioned our sanity. But as the space started to take shape, our excitement grew.

There were definitely moments of frustration, and we wouldn't be honest if we said we didn't shed a few tears. But through it all, we laughed, supported each other, and created unforgettable memories. And let's not forget the countless puppy paw prints that adorned our clothes and faces – a testament to our dedication to our furry clients.

Now, as we look back at the before and after photos, we can't believe the transformation. Mama Cherry's Pet Pawlor is a cozy and inviting space that perfectly reflects Charity's passion for animals. We're incredibly proud of what we accomplished as a family, and we can't wait to see all the happy pups that will be pampered within these walls.
